Insurance companies now rely on medical coding systems, the most common is called Colossus, to value your case. All insurance value systems refer to medical codes used to designate treatments rendered at medical providers. The insurance company then assigns value based on how a particular medical code has played into jury verdicts in the past. Other considerations include:
- Prior medical history
- Liability of the insured in the incident
- Witness reputation
- Quality of witness statement
